In brief, the Planning Commission is comprised of 7 members.  Their responsibilities include development of the Village’s Master Plan, review of proposed site plans and amendments to site plans as well as review and recommendation of new ordinances regarding zoning issues.
The Design Review Board is comprised of 7 members.  It was created to preserve, protect and enhance the ecologically and historically unique environment and aesthetic charm of the village.  The Board reviews architectural and site plans.
Both the Planning Commission and Design Review members are appointed by the Village President with concurrence of Council.

Village Council members are elected for four-year terms.  Terms are staggered to provide stability and perspective.  These elections are held bi-annually in November of even-numbered years.

Mobile Watch is a group of residents who patrol the Village streets.  Should they see anything suspicious, it is reported immediately to the Franklin Bingham Police Dept. for further investigation.
